encore | DB introduces itself
08.01.2024
encore | DB is a corporate start-up of the DB Bahnbau Gruppe and gives used and surplus lithium-ion batteries from electromobility a second life as a second-life battery storage system. This reduces the carbon footprint of electromobility and creates a cost-efficient way of storing green energy. But even beyond the aspect of sustainability, second-life battery storage systems offer a wide range of technical and economic benefits.
The applications for second life battery storage systems are diverse: they increase self-consumption of cost-effective, self-generated green energy or reduce expensive peak loads for industrial and commercial customers. The result: electricity costs are saved - for up to 20 years. The price advantage is up to 40% compared to First Life models. Second life battery storage systems also support grid operators, e.g. when there is too much or too little electricity in the grid at short notice. They therefore help to prevent grid bottlenecks or ensure an uninterrupted power supply in the event of brief power outages.
The modular design enables flexible scaling, so that there is a suitable solution for every industrial and commercial customer. The innovative system architecture allows battery modules to be inexpensively replaced with new generations over time. This increases the overall performance of the storage system over time - a unique feature! Each battery storage system also has a fail-safe feature and comes with a quality guarantee. Site analysis, site preparation, 24/7 monitoring, maintenance and replacement of the battery modules are also included in the service package. With encore | DB, everything from transportation and logistics to installation and maintenance comes from a single source.
Switching to second-life battery storage makes the energy supply more cost-effective, efficient and sustainable.
